My CBPLA Experience

Ms. Ayanna Dickerson

We believe that schools should be guided by one clear principle: that everything they do should be “what’s best for students.” My name is Ayanna Dickerson and I am currently in my sixth year here at Camden Big Picture Learning Academy.  In the past six school years, we have moved from our original location to two different locations and my position has changed a few times.  I have watched children grow from freshmen to young adults and transition into adulthood.  No matter how many times we moved, my positions changed or the faces of the students changed, on thing always remained constant and resonated with me. That is our student centered approached, always doing what’s best for the students, allowing them to lead the way and using the principle of building meaningful relationships.  As a product of Camden City Public School District and a Camden City resident, I can honestly day, the staff and administration here at BPLA strive to do what’s best for our students! It is very true that it is easier to relate and teach a student who knows that you truly care about their wellbeing in and out of the classroom. Keeping the mission and vision of CBPLA in mind always, we strive to provide our students with four unforgettable years that they will not only learn how to read and write properly, but how to navigate through adult hood and become productive members of society! We will always try our best to do what’s BEST for our students! My CBPLA experience has been amazing, it’s a pleasure to wake up every morning and come work with the students of Camden City, My City.
